Over six weeks, he conducted 20+ in-depth interviews with ecosystem partners and women business owners across all five boroughs, spanning organizations including the Legal Aid Society, Locavore, Founder Forward, Welcome to Chinatown, and Harvard Business School Alumni SMB Coaching, alongside small business owners in retail, food and beverage, creative industries, and professional services.
The deliverable was a comprehensive market assessment and strategy recommendation that gave SBS and the program team a practical, decision-ready document grounded in field research and supported by published data on the state of small businesses in NYC and the US.
The final document provided insights on how WE NYC should position itself in the broader ecosystem of support for NYC-based women entrepreneurs, as well as marketing and partnership recommendations, measurement and evaluation guidelines, and future opportunities to explore.
