Gotham Park Fundraiser

Gotham Park is the nonprofit grassroots organization reopening, revitalizing and reactivating the forgotten spaces under the Manhattan side of the iconic Brooklyn Bridge.  Working with community partners and New York City agencies, we are creating a new community-led, world-class public space that nurtures connection, resilience, joy, discovery and wonder. Gotham Park’s vision boasts 9 acres from City Hall to the waterfront, with 4 acres ready to be opened to the public by mid-2025.

On February 26, 2025, Arpan and Gotham Park board member, Vic Lee, hosted a fundraising dinner to support the park’s expansion efforts. Alongside a backdrop of great food at Jing Fong and drinks provided by Lunar Hard Seltzer, we raised $23,000 in celebration of the grand vision of Gotham Park.

Old and new friends of Gotham Park were treated to a video introduction, hearing directly from community members and students in the neighborhood, as well as remarks from Arpan, Vic, and Gotham Park founder, Rosa Chang. Attendees also created their own visions for installations at the park using Magna-Tiles and LEGO, translated into augmented reality by our friends inCitu.

It was an evening of family, friends, civics and celebration of public space in New York City.
