Project:

The Environmental Justice in Tech Project is a new collection of resources dedicated to imagining the future of environmentally just technology. We explore the history, current efforts towards, and lack thereof environmental justice in technology development and engage with environmental justice mapping iniatives. This work investigates questions of environmental harm, climate tech development, social issues, and the intersection of the environmental and social impact of new technologies while envisioning and proposing more equitable and environmentally resilient futures.

As a Summer 2024 Fellow, Arpan supported advancing environmental justice principles in technology projects by contributing to the Environmental Justice in Tech (EJIT) Project. His work will included researching environmentally just data infrastructure, developing workshops on geospatial mapping and co-design, and curating EJIT’s annual zine, Glitch.
